Another favorite destination in the San Juans is Deer Harbor, located on the southwest corner of Orcas Island. The harbor is home to the Deer Harbor resort, with a first class marina. It features  a swimming pool and hotel accommodations while maintaining a quiet miles-away-from-anywhere quality that is so appealing. We were blessed to have Jan and Kathi Skillingstead along with us for several days and their beautiful yacht Shearwater.
